ShadowCase
Steal this photo and add your own cheesy photoshopped text on the case.
Note: specially designed for (secret) spies. I am not one.
Day 38
Wednesday, January 16, 2008
this sucks.
I must admit, I'm a fan of the straw. Drinks taste bubblier and cooler. I highly recommend incorporating the straw into your beverage consumption habits.
However, as Demetri Martin reminds us, there are inherent dangers... the straw is your friend, until you lose eye contact with the straw. Then he will betray you and make you look like an idiot.

Sole Doubt
Sing along if you know it (let the puns continue):
Sometimes I feel my life is going 'round in circles
Beneath my eyes are bluish black
There's nothing new, no one I wanna talk to
Nothing I wanna think about, I got soul doubt.
Day 36

PowerBook lit
Sure, it's not the new MacBook Air, but you gotta be happy with what you've got. I still have a fond place in my heart for my PowerBook G4, and my heart is growing (to make room for a new MacBook Pro). Dorky, I know, but seriously, have you seen the new laptops!?

(G4 x 3) +5
That 5 G12's, if you solve this lame algebra joke problem.
Pat donated 8 G4 towers to our school. Here's 3 of them getting wheeled over to my classroom. Pat rocks. These computers rock. And now, I will rock.
Day 33
Friday, January 11, 2008
Granville has tasty food
Granville is a rockin restaurant in Burbank. They have a DJ that streams a cool playlist from home, so you hear Blink and Oingo Bongo while eating Lobster Bisk. Plus, their menu has a wooden etched insert that looks super cool. It was incredibly dark at our table, so I'm surprised this photo came out at al

Pant ironing sunrise
I stepped outside to iron my pants in the morning (don't ask), and I saw some amazing colors as the sun was rising. This almost makes it worth waking up early... almost.
Day 31

Light my candle
If you haven't seen the play "Rent", go do it. You could see the movie, too, but it's not nearly as moving.
If you have seen it, you're probably singing the song in your head now. Dedicated to Annie (my little sister), living it up in Indonesia... "Just haven't eaten much today
At least the room stopped spinning." (She's afraid to eat most of the food (and those are lyrics from the song)).
(Sorry this is incoherent. I'm tired. It makes sense to me.)
Day 30

"new"
Modern "art" spoiler: don't read this (semi-interesting) description if you want the mysteriousness of this shot gone.
So, our new media center at my school is 2 years old. It's really not new anymore; after all, you wouldn't eat pizza that's 700 days old. It is still under construction, though. I took a photo of the roof, with the sky above, and some construction paper masking out spots for painting (again).
On a side note, I've begun tagging photos as "Zel", if they remind me of the master photographer Zel Nunes. My friend and I use him name now as an adjective (not noun), as in, "Dude, that's totally a Zel picture."

Airwolf(cub)
Mark got a mini toy helicopter for Christmas from his lady. We flew it around (indoors, of course). It was fun, but I crashed it a lot. Unless Stacey is reading this, in which case I'm just joking around. I am a good aviator.
Day 27

duotone planter
I dropped my dad off at his new physical therapist in Pasadena and had to go to the Apple Store. They open at 10:00 am and I got there at 9:54 am. So, I walked around the block and took some pictures. This planter is in a small alley (right next to Equator (a coffee place that's cool)). The ground is angled on purpose, btw.
Day 25

Un(der)locked and key
Wayne and I put cabinet doors in his kitchen today. I took this picture at a stop light as we were getting machine screws that were the right size. Thanks to Wayne for suggesting various angles for this shot.
Day 24

Tuesday, January 01, 2008
Inverted Glendora
A late night shot while driving through downtown Glendora. Since the original shot wasn't the strongest composition (and I needed a photo-a-day), I ran it through the fun, yet tacky Photoshop wringer.
In Photoshop, I merged 2 photos with different exposures. Next, I added a few filters... paint daubs, plastic wrap, and dry brush. Finally, I ran it through AlienSkin's Antimatter. It inverts colors and adds some character. That's why the bright streetlights show up as super dark circles.
It's been a long time since I've played in Photoshop. Maybe next time, I'll just take the time to capture a stronger image initially.
Day 22
Monday, December 31, 2007
Hero, blur
Preston rocked out the Guitar Hero world last night. He was a first timer, and took it to the bank. This was a .8 sec shot with a slow sync flash (that's why his face is growing out of his other face).
Day 21
Sunday, December 30, 2007
Scary spider bug eating a bee
Definitely the creepiest photo I've ever taken. Thanks to Mark for finding this forsaken spider. What IS it? 8 legs, eating a bee? uf.
