Kenny

Kenny, originally uploaded by billaday.

Kenny plays in the Matt Maher Band; he rocked during Inspiration at Magic Mountain. Matt's band used our gear, so I was hanging out really close to the stage. btw, that was a big spotlight above his head (or it was God). Either way, it's a cool shot.

Dew'd

Dew'd, originally uploaded by billaday.

There was a bunch of morning dew on the grass in front of school today. I stopped and took a picture of this rare Southern California event.

Orange arch

Orange arch, originally uploaded by billaday.

I bought a carne asada burrito, as I watched the sun slowly descend over the smog-laden palm trees. The light hit the tacky orange arch just right.

A calm drive

A calm drive, originally uploaded by billaday.

Driving down the 10, I blindly took a few 4 second exposures. I photoshopped 3 of my favorite (lucky/random) shots. I did, however, plan to (vaguely) get the truck on the left.

Corner

Corner, originally uploaded by billaday.

The (mostly) symmetrical corner of the bathroom at work. I like the high contrast in this shot.

Breaker, breaker

Breaker, breaker, originally uploaded by billaday.

Here's the old circuit breaker at our church. It looks more run down here than in real life (I think).

Intersection

Intersection, originally uploaded by billaday.

I was standing on an island in the middle of the street during this 30 second exposure. I was about 2 feet away from traffic on the right, which is why the taillights are all over. I also found out that a wallet makes a good tripod when your camera is on a curb.

pwr

pwr, originally uploaded by billaday.

If you view this on black, the depth of field is pretty sweet. My PowerBook is starting to show its age with the cracked power button, but I still love it.

Lines of power

Lines of power, originally uploaded by billaday.

I like the composition of this shot. I spent a while trying out different Photoshopped colors. I settled in on this version, where the top layer's blending properties are exclusion (so the blue sky becomes orange). It seemed to pop more than my other ideas.

Funny cars

Funny cars, originally uploaded by billaday.

We went to Chuck E. Cheese for my 7th Annual Chuck's Mission (birthday party). My wife and mom played Mario Kart. They weren't very good drivers.

Eye eye captain

Eye eye captain, originally uploaded by billaday.

That's my eye. I shot the flash straight at me to get decent lighting. Looks like I need more sleep...

30th

30th, originally uploaded by billaday.

My parents celebrated their 30th anniversary. We found Fr. Bill, the priest that married them 30 years ago, to help renew their vows. Good times.

Here's Francis' guitar case, while we were waiting outside... waiting to rock.

Night sky

Night sky, originally uploaded by billaday.

At 9pm, I took two pictures. I stacked them in Photoshop and changed the layer style to screen. Interestingly enough, this is facing east (so it's not the sunset at all). Hmm...
